NICEC

The National Institute for Careers Education and Counselling (NICEC) is a network organisation and subsidiary of CRAC.

NICEC's objectives are:

  • to develop theory, through the convening of, and contributing to, seminars and conferences, and through a sustained output of thoughtful, informed and high quality publications
  • to inform policy through representation on national bodies, convening policy consultations and other activities
  • to enhance practice in the broad fields of career guidance and career development through staff development, consultancy and research.

Working through a national network of Fellows and Associates with a range of guidance specialisms, NICEC has thirty years' experience and expertise in conducting applied research, evaluation and development work in career guidance and related areas across a range of settings including educational institutions, the workplace and the wider community.

NICEC operates within a set of principles which define a way of working for members of the Network, as well as ensuring a quality response to external contractors.

Fellows meet six times a year. Following these meetings we arrange seminars across a broad range of topics.

Seminars which are open to the public are publicised within these pages.
