New Trustees Announced for 2024 at CRAC

The Careers Research and Advisory Centre (CRAC) is pleased to announce the recent appointment of two new trustees for this year to the Board of Trustees, Rachel Lambert-Forsyth and Professor Roger Whitaker.

Rachel Lambert-Forsyth is Chief Executive of the British Pharmacological Society (BPS) and Managing Director of BPS Assessment Ltd (BPSA).

Previously, Rachel held various positions at the Royal Society of Biology, including Director of Education and Training, and Director of Membership and Professional Affairs.

She is a Trustee of the Royal College of Nursing Foundation, where she is currently Chair of their Grants Committee, and was Deputy-Chair of the Science Council and their Board Diversity Champion until July 2023.

Rachel commented: ‘I am delighted to join CRAC’s Board, as I am passionate about removing barriers to inclusion and championing the importance of building equitable spaces for everyone to achieve their potential in the workplace and beyond.’

Professor Roger Whitaker is the Pro Vice-Chancellor for Research, Innovation and Enterprise at Cardiff University, and Founder and Academic Director of Supercomputing Wales.

Roger’s research focuses on the intersection of human and machine intelligence, spanning disciplines including psychology, sociology and engineering.

Roger commented: ‘I have strong motivations for supporting the work of CRAC, to help make a significant difference for future generations, owing to my disciplinary knowledge on AI and how this will affect the future workforce.’

CEO of CRAC, Clare Viney, commented: ‘The appointment of Rachel and Roger strengthens the CRAC Board of Trustees, as they bring their invaluable expertise and insight to the overseeing of CRAC, and Vitae, its leading programme for the professional development of researchers.’

Chair of the Board of Trustees, Professor David Oswell, commented: ‘I welcome Rachel and Roger at a critical time for CRAC as we consider our next 5-year strategy and look forward to working with them.’
